Set in the beginning of the 20th century Downton Abbey is an interesting portrait of the lives of the British aristocracy.
A period drama series, produced by Carnival Films for the ITV network with an impeccably polished script by Julian Fellowes and with the first season aired in 2010, it's definitely a must see!
The series is set in the fictional Downton Abbey, stantely home of the Earl of Grantham, early in the reing of the King George V, during the two years proir to the Great war and commencing with the news of the sinking of the Titanic (an event that triggers much of the storyline), it follows the lives of the Crawley family and their servants.
Everything in this series is incredibly well done: the scenarios, the hair, the clothes, the actors, the music and the writing (the dialogue is witty and to the point). You will feel like you watching a Merchant Ivory film.
So if you like beautiful houses, drama, great music, wonderful clothes, history and a british accent this series is for you.
